Brief Bosom Ball Sound Check Recap

Okay... this isn't going to be totally in depth or anything, but here it is.

Kris started with Heartless, which was awesome, of course, and then sang Man in the Mirror, which was even better with guitar. Then there was a SUPER SHORT Q&A session, with Holly from Q102 and an attractive guy with hot swooshy blonde hair... Kris told the proposing to Katy story, and the most notable part was while talking about sweetest day somebody named emma yelled something at him, prompting him to say "Why you gotta be like that? I thought we was cool." With the obligatory gangsta tone. Then he sang LLWD, and it was awesome....  then he said goodbye, and did the whole hand-smacking thing along the stage and I GOT A SIDEWAYS HIGH FIVE FROM KRIS ALLEN YOU GUYS. It was super exciting. As far as his voice goes, he's just as good live as on tv, as has been proved, but his voice sounded... I don't know... a little bit younger than I expected I guess? In a good way, of course. Also, the guy who played and sang backup had a Kris-ish haircut and was wearing plaid and they looked remarkably similar. It was fun.

So. Overall: Amazing. Favorite 30 minutes of my life.

Beforehand, dee_lirious came and took pictures, and we were a nuisance to people in line.

um... that's it. YAY KRIS ALLEN.

btw- XDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Rawr... College.

Up until about a week ago I had prided myself on not freaking out too much about college and such... and now that I've finished my regular applications and am left with just the recommendations to get and essays to write, I'm starting to get stressed out.

The thing is, each college asks you to write about a 'significant experience' that had a profound impact on your life.

I realized that though I take in moments as they come and value them all, I don't make a point to remember things that might be significant experiences... I value experiences in the moment and don't dwell too much on them, meaning I don't have incredibly vivid memories of anything worth writing about. The things I remember most are pointless get togethers with friends and random moments at school that aren't special enough to warrant a college essay.

This writer's block is making me sadface.

Hopefully I'll have a near death experience, save a life and see a really pretty sunset within the next week. Work on that, fate.

Basically, Kris Allen.

Any suprise in this topic? None whatsoever? Good. You've been paying attention.

So, unexpectedly my unhealthy obsession with this guy has continued long past the finale.

and now, I want icons.

shalowater kindly took my suggestion into consideration, but the only pictures I can come up with from Kris's stint on Best Week Ever (with the capes..lol) are some low quality screenshots that I had to doctor on paint.. the problem is, now I can't upload them onto here because they're the wrong file type. So... thoughts on how I'm supposed to do this would be helpful.

May. 29th, 2009

Almost deep thoughts, partly because I don't want ALL of my posts to be about AI.

Today our lunch table had a spirited discussion about California's decision to reject Prop 8 (again.)  I refrained from talking much since I was actually eating. Also, there were some *ahem* more ENTHUSIASTIC participants who needed to get their feelings out. (Dee.) So I just figured I'd state my opinion here on a journal nobody reads.

I think that gay marriage is fine. Unless you're planning on outlawing gay relationships themselves, there should be no reason not to allow gay couples to get married. Couples of any sexual orientation can walk around in a lifelong, live-in, monogamous relationship with rings on their fingers, and that's honestly the main concept of marriage, just lacking the government-granted piece of paper. People in America don't think through their prejudices, except for the people who, like me, are simply prejudiced against the loudmouth ignorant morons of the world, in all their shapes and sizes. If you discriminate against people for loving anyone, be it someone of the opposite sex or the same, that's essentially provoking hateful acts between people, which actually breaks down the integrity of the world more than letting people who love each other 'ruin the sanctity of marriage'. Also, Government, think about how much the divorce rate could change if you allow gay marriage, since a bunch of them are *GASP!* COMMITTED COUPLES THAT WILL ACTUALLY STICK TOGETHER. For the people who insist that it's against Christian doctrine, I would like to think that God is more accepting than that. If heaven lets in heterosexual born-again Christians who used to be criminals but were saved on death row, and rejects good people who happen to be gay... dude, I'm going to hang out in the awesome gay-cation (haha office quote) resort that is hell. Overall, I just think that people need to stop and think better of blind discrimination of all kinds.

There ends our lesson for today, children, join us again next time on CORI TRIES TO TACKLE BROAD SOCIAL ISSUES.

(Also, for good measure: KRIS ALLEN :D)

OMG YOU GUYS.

KRIS AND ADAM MADE THE FINALE.

I am ridiculously enthusiastic about this. It's going to be the best finale ever, and I honestly don't care who wins.

So, overall, it was a good day. :)

Idolatry

This is kind of a pointless rant, but this past weekend I have been obsessing over American Idol more than usual, and the fuel to my madness is Entertainment Weekly's coverage of the season in their 'Idolatry' segments.

http://www.ew.com/ew/package/0,,20007164_20174011,00.html

The guy's name is Michael Sleazek, and he and a bunch of other people, most notably Kristen Baldwin, discuss Idol each week and I can't stop watching them, I agree wholeheartedly with everything they say.

Especially Kristen's slogan: "Put the GO in GOKEY."

They loved Allison, and Michael predicted back in like week 10 a Kris-Adam-Allison top 3, and he was only off because of GOKEY. They also love Adam and Kris and give props where they are due when the judges display negative IQ points sometimes, like when Kris sang Falling Slowly and Randy thought it was just pitchy.

I am going to freak out if Danny makes the finale. Kris and Adam were ROOMIES for gosh sakes!!!! Especially after last week, when Danny freaking RUINED his and Kris's duet... man. I am going to vote like a million times this week.

KRADAM FTW!!!

(rant over.)
